PM Modi announces achievement of connecting 100 million houses with tap-water
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the achievement of connecting 100 million houses with functional tap water. He virtually addressed the Har Ghar Jal Utsav under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Goa. The event also marked Goa achievement of connecting all rural households in the state with piped water.

Karnataka Government makes singing of National Anthem mandatory in schools and PU colleges
In an order passed by the Karnataka government, it has become mandatory for all schools, whether government, private, or aided and pre-university colleges to include National Anthem as part of their morning prayers. Students will have to mandatorily sing the National Anthem during their morning prayers every morning.
Child mortality has dipped to 35 per 1,000 live births
India has taken rapid strides in reducing child mortality since 2014 from 45 per 1,000 live births to 35 per 1,000 live births in 2019, Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said. Dr. Pawar was speaking after the virtual launch of the ‘Paalan 1000’ National Campaign and Parenting App at the Early Childhood Development Conclave in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the popular entertainment event of “Dahi Handi” would be officially recognized under the state’s sports category. Shinde said Maharashtra would introduce the discipline “Pro Dahi Handi” and “Govindas” who participated in the tournament would get jobs under the sports quota in Maharashtra.
