PM Modi to inaugurate 44th Chess Olympiad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the 44th International Chess Olympiad today in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, Chief Minister MK Stalin, and Union Minister Anurag Thakur will also be present at the event. The event will take place at Jawahar Lal Nehru Indoor stadium.

Centre tells Lok Sabha: 7.2 lakh people got government jobs since 2014

The Central government informed the Lok Sabha that more than 7.2 lakh people have got government jobs in various departments since 2014. Union Minister Jitendra Singh added that employability in the country is the government main priority.

Revised pay scale to be applicable retrospectively from 2016

The Supreme Court has approved the second national judicial pay commission of 25,000 judicial officers. The last pay raise was given in 2016 and hence, the court has asked to pay the dues from 2016 retrospectively.

3 more MPs have been suspended for this week from the Rajya Sabha session. Till now, a total of 23 MPs have been suspended for disturbing the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha.

Expression of Interest (EOI) for Monekypox vaccine

The Center issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) call on Wednesday for the creation of vaccinations to prevent monkeypox. According to the EOI documentation, the Monkeypox Virus strain/isolates are willing to be made accessible for research and development validation by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
