India first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant, built by the Cochin Shipyard was handed over to the Indian Navy. The name of India first Aircraft Carrier was also INS Vikrant which played a vital role in the 1971 war. It was decommissioned in 1997 after 36 years of glorious service to the Navy.

Punjab to host the PUNJAB KHED MELA from August 29

Punjab Sports Department will host the Punjab Khed Mela, which will feature 30 sporting activities in six age divisions for competitors between the ages of 14 and 60. The event’s goals are to find talent, create a welcoming environment for sports, and raise public awareness of health. There will be competitions in the age ranges of 25 to 40, 40 to 50, and 50 to 60 in addition to the previously conducted under-14, under-17, and 17 to 25 age groups.

Singapore emerges as the top country for FDI equity inflows into India

Singapore (27.01%) and the USA (17.94%) have emerged as the top 2 sourcing nations in FDI equity flows into India in FY2021-22 followed by Mauritius (15.98%), Netherland (7.86%) and Switzerland (7.31%). As per the UNCTAD World Investment Report (WIR) 2022, in its analysis of the global trends in FDI inflows, India has improved one position to 7th rank among the top 20 host economies for 2021.

International Friendship Day is celebrated annually on July 30, and it was first proposed way back in the year1958byWorld Friendship Crusade, an international civil organization. According to United Nations, the International Day of Friendship can help promote peace and social harmony among people. 44th Chess Olympiad 2022

The 44th Chess Olympiad is being held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India from 28 July to 10 August 2022. This is the first Chess Olympiad to take place in India. The event was initially supposed to take place in Khanty-Mansiysk, along with the Chess World Cup 2019, but was moved to Moscow and scheduled for the period from 5 to 17 August 2020.
