PM Modi commissioned INS Vikrant in Kochi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi. India first indigenously built warship was designed by the Indian Navy and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited.

PM Modi addressed a huge gathering and said that it is a tribute to India rising spirits on the world horizon. He said that is a sunrise of a new future and the testimony of the hard work, talent, and commitment of 21st-century India. He also said that it is not just a warship but something special and different.

Indian Navy new Ensign unveiled by PM Modi 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the new ensign of the Indian Navy during the commission of INS Vikrant. The Navy dropped St. George Cross and incorporated the royal seal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Supreme Court rejects petition for declaration of Sanskrit as National Language

The Supreme Court has rejected a petition filed to declare Sanskrit as India national language. The plea was rejected on the basis that declaring anything national requires an amendment to the Constitution and cannot be ordered by the Court.

3rd Vande Bharat train to run from 7th September between Ahmedabad and Mumbai 

The 3rd Vande Bharat train is also set to begin its Ahmedabad-Mumbai route from 7th September. The train has been going through trials for the past 1 month and the final Timetable trial will be conducted for 2 days before getting a green signal from the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety.

Southern Zonal Council meeting to be held in Kerela today

The 30th Southern Zonal Council meeting will be held today in Kerela. The meeting will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Ministers of Kerela, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana, and Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories of Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands.

Jharkhand Governor visits Delhi triggering speculations 

Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais visited Delhi amid speculations and political crisis in Jharkhand. BJP had earlier filed a petition to disqualify Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren as an MLA due to a profit case. The Election Commission has sent its decision to the Governor, but he has not officially declared the decision yet.

Om Birla unveils Indian Agricultural Scientist bust in Mexico

The University of Chapingo in Mexico installed the statue of Pandurang Khankhoje, an Indian agricultural scientist who contributed to India’s green revolution. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla unveiled the statue at the oldest agricultural university in Latin America.

S Jaishankar sets $100 bn trade goals with the UAE 

External Affairs Minister co-chaired the 14th India-UAE Joint Commission meeting with his UAE counterpart during his visit to the UAE. The 2 countries have agreed to intensify economic cooperation and set the goal of $100 billion of trade in the next 5 years.
