2 crore 44 lakh houses sanctioned to beneficiaries under PMAY-G
The government has said that two crores 44 lakh houses have been sanctioned to the beneficiaries by various States under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) and one core of 90 lakh houses have been completed.
India and US to hold mega military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ in Uttarakhand
India and the US will conduct a fortnight-long mega military exercise in Uttarakhand Auli in October this year. The 18th edition of exercise “Yudh Abhyas” is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 31.
Assam launched Mission Bhumiputra for the digital issuance of caste certificates for students
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched ‘Mission Bhumiputra, a digital way to issue digitalized caste certificates to students. It will be implemented by the Departments of Tribal Affairs (Plain) and Social Justice Empowerment and aims to carry forward the government’s mission of easy public service to the public.

China USA Taiwan issue
The US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visited Taiwan island on August 2 China had earlier objected to the US regarding her visit to Taiwan. China said that if Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan, then the US will have to pay the consequences. But despite the warning from China, Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan on 2nd August. According to Taiwan defense ministry, 27 Chinese fighter jets entered its air defense zone protesting against Nancy Pelosi visit.
Lawn Bowling: Women’s team secures first ever Gold medal in Lawn Bowls in CWG
In the Commonwealth Games, the women fours lawn bowls team of Nayanmoni Saikia, Pinki, Lovely Choubey, and Rupa Rani Tirkey, scripted history as they won a gold medal by defeating South Africa in the finals. This is India first medal in the sport.
Badminton Mixed Team gets Silver medal in commonwealth Games
In the Mixed Team Finals of the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022, the Indian Badminton Team was defeated by Malaysia. Malaysia team defeated India 3-1 to win the Mixed Team competition and bring home the gold for their nation in Birmingham. India, on the other hand, improved their position in the overall medal count by winning the silver medal.
CWG 2022: Vikas Thakur bags silver
Vikas Thakur, a weightlifter, took home the silver medal in the men 96 kg division. Thakur lifted 346 kilograms in total weight. He successfully attempted a 155 kg best snatch and a 191 kg clean and jerk. Don Opeloge of Samoa won the gold medal by lifting a total of 381 kg. After the snatch round, he tied third with Rainibogi of Fiji. Thakur started with an attempt of 187 kg in the clean and jerk round and was successful. Additionally, he earned 2 kg on the weightlifter from Fiji.
