ISRO to send Small Satellite Launch Vehicle – Azaadi SAT

The Indian Space Research Organization will send a small satellite launch vehicle on 07 August from Sriharikota. It is a three-stage vehicle with all solid propulsion stages. The mission is to launch Earth Observation Satellite, EOS-02, and a co-passenger satellite, ‘Azaadi SAT’, into low earth orbit. The ‘Azaadi Satellite’ is designed by 750 girl students at government schools in rural areas from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Indian Navy all-women crew creates history by completing the first Independent maritime surveillance

Indian Navy women officers have created history after they completed the first-ever all-women independent maritime reconnaissance and surveillance mission in the North Arabian Sea onboard a Dornier 28 aircraft.

The mission was carried out by five officers of the Indian Navy Air Squadron (INAS) 314 based at the Naval Air Enclave at Gujarat’s Porbandar.

The aircraft was captained by the Mission Commander, Lt Cdr Aanchal Sharma, who had pilots, Lt Shivangi and Lt Apurva Gite, and Tactical and Sensor officers, Lt Pooja Panda and SLt Pooja Shekhawat in her team.

The first-of-its-kind military flying mission is expected to pave the way for women officers in the aviation cadre to assume greater responsibility and aspire for more challenging roles.

Polling for the election of the new Vice President of India is to be held on August 6

The polling for the election of the new Vice President of India will be held on August 6, 2022.

The polling will take place at the Parliament House between 10 am and 5 PM. Jagdeep Dhankhar has been named as the NDA candidate, while Margaret Alva is the Opposition candidate.

The Vice President of India is elected by the Members of the Electoral College consisting of the members of both houses of Parliament in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferrable vote.

The counting will take place at the Parliament House after the voting on August 6, 2022. The term of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu is ending on the 10thof this month.

World largest floating solar power plant in MP

The world largest floating solar power plant is going to be built at Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh. The Madhya Pradesh government signed a contract for the first phase of the world’s largest Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project. In the first phase of the 600 MW project, contracts of 278 MW capacities will be signed.

DRDO successfully test fires indigenously-developed laser-guided ATGMs

The indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missiles ATGM was successfully test-fired from Main Battle Tank MBT Arjun by Defence Research and Development Organisation DRDO and Indian Army at KK Ranges with support of Armoured Corps Centre and School Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.

Govt sets target to eliminate Kala-azar by next year from the country

The Government has set the target to eliminate Kala-azar by next year from the country. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar said, out of 633 Kala-azar endemic blocks, 625 blocks have achieved the elimination target last year.

13,92,265 electric vehicles presently running on roads in the country

The Government has said that 13 lakh 92 thousand 265 Electric Vehicles are presently running on the roads in the country. These include over five lakh 44 thousand Two Wheelers, over 7 lakh 93 thousand Three Wheelers, and over fifty-four thousand Four wheelers as per the Vehicle Category. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar informed this.

South Korea has joined the race to the Moon with the launch of its first lunar orbiter by Elon Musk aerospace company SpaceX. Danuri – meaning “enjoy the Moon” – was carried on a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida by Elon Musk aerospace company SpaceX. It aims to enter the Moon orbit in December.

United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket launched with US Space Force satellite

The United Launch Alliance (ULA) has launched an Atlas V rocket with the sixth and final Space Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (SBIRS GEO 6) spacecraft for the United States Space Force Space Systems Command. The ULA is a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing.

The United States declare the Monkeypox outbreak a Public Health Emergency

The United States of America has declared Monkeypox a Public Health Emergency indicating that the virus has a significant risk for Americans.

The announcement was made by President Joe Biden’s health secretary Xavier Becerra. The designation will also free up the emergency funds and lift some of the bureaucratic hurdles.

The decision came after the President and the Becerra came under immense pressure from the activists and public health experts to move more aggressively to combat the outbreak.
