How can you change the core Magento API settings?

First and foremost, you need to access the Admin menu.
Select System > Configuration
Choose Magento Core API on the left side of the Configuration Panel
Navigate to expand the General Settings section
Write the Default Response Charset's name that you want to use
Define the DefineClient Session Timeout in seconds
Click on the Save Configuration button to finish
