How to change the core Magento API settings?

Go to Admin menu
Select System> Configuration
Choose Magento Core API on the left side of the panel under service.
Go to General settings and expand it.
Now enter the details of Default Response Charset
Enter the Client Session Timeout (in secs)
Select yes to enable WS-I Compliance and WSDL Cache.
Click on Save button.
