If the girl counts the way as given in the question, The counting serial for thumb will be 1, 9, 17, 25 . . . . . . Hence, Number 1992 ( as 1992 is divisible by 8, common difference of series formed by counting) will also fall on thumb. Hence, Number 1994 will end on her middle finger.
